Donor Terms

Your payment is a voluntary charitable donation to the charity named on the event page. You are not buying a song, a play, a position in the queue, or any other product or service. Nothing is being sold to you.

You can search for and add any song to the queue at no cost, with no account and no payment. Free picks are played in a random rotation once the boosted songs have played.

As a thank-you for donating, the event organiser moves your chosen song up the queue. Boosted songs are ordered by the amount received by the charity, highest first. This is a courtesy, not a contractual right — it is not guaranteed, and no fee is charged for it.

Once confirmed, your donation is processed and goes to the charity. It will not be reversed, refunded, or credited if your song plays late, plays partially, is skipped, is removed by the organiser, or never plays at all — including if the event ends first, the equipment fails, or the song is unavailable.

Organisers may remove or skip any song at their discretion, for example if it is inappropriate for the audience. Your donation still stands.

A 5% platform fee, capped at $1.00, plus payment processing fees, are deducted from your donation unless you choose to cover them. If you cover them, the charity receives your full chosen amount and your card is charged slightly more. If you do not, the charity receives your donation less fees — and your boost amount is the net figure the charity receives.

Gala Groove is not the charity and is not your counterparty for the donation. When an event uses Stripe Connect, your payment is processed directly for the charity's connected Stripe account; Gala Groove collects only its disclosed platform fee. When an event uses manual bank payout, Gala Groove collects the donation as the charity's authorised collection agent and transfers it to the charity after the event.

Where Gala Groove collects as the charity's agent, your donation is treated as received by the charity at the moment your payment succeeds. You owe the charity nothing further, and you are not affected if the transfer between Gala Groove and the charity is delayed. The event organiser confirms to Gala Groove that they are authorised to fundraise for the charity named on the event page.

Any receipt, acknowledgement, or statement about tax deductibility comes from the charity or the event organiser. Gala Groove makes no representation that your donation is tax-deductible.

Gala Groove does not play, stream, license, or supply music. The venue and organiser are responsible for holding the public performance rights required to play music at the event.

Any name you supply may be shown publicly alongside your request. Your email, if given, is used for your donation confirmation and is shared with the event organiser and the charity. By donating, you consent to your name and email (if provided) being shared with the event organisers and the charity so they can thank you, issue receipts, and report on the event. We never sell your details. Leave the name and email blank to remain anonymous.
