Create the event
Add your charity details, upload a logo, set the date and venue, and confirm the venue holds public performance rights. You get a public link and a QR code.

Guests scan and pick
No app, no account. Guests search Spotify's catalogue, add a song for free, and see exactly what it would cost to take the top spot.

Donations set the order
Boosted songs play in order of the amount received by the charity. Once they're done, free picks shuffle in randomly until someone boosts again — no promised spot if the night is packed with donations.

Export the report
At the end of the night, export every song played with timestamps and totals — for the charity, the venue, or a performing rights organisation.

Gala Groove never streams music itself — it runs on your own Spotify account. Connect it once and we build and reorder your event playlist live, while your guests pick songs and donate. Then you press play, wherever you like.

Sign up — it's free
Organiser accounts are free and stay free. The only fee is 5% (capped at $1) taken from each guest donation — and guests can choose to cover it themselves.

Connect your Spotify
Link your Spotify account once and Gala Groove creates an event playlist for you, reordering it live so the highest donation plays next. No set-up needed during the party.

Press play anywhere
Stream the event playlist from any device signed into your Spotify — phone, laptop, or venue system. Songs already played stay on the playlist so it loops instead of drifting into recommendations. Spotify Premium is optional for ads, but required if you want Gala Groove to keep playlist-repeat on for you.
Guests never need a Spotify account or the Gala Groove app — they just scan the QR code and pick a song.
Where the money goes
If the guest ticks “cover the fees”, they're charged a little more and the charity receives the full $20.00 — which also means a higher boost. Picking a song itself is never charged for.
How charities get paid
You can connect the charity's own Stripe account so donations go directly to them (Gala Groove keeps only the disclosed platform fee), or provide bank details for a manual transfer after the event. Either way, guests always donate to the named charity — never for a song or a queue position.

Before you go live
Your venue must hold valid public performance licences for the music played at the event, and consumer streaming accounts are not a substitute. Read Public Performance Rights and the Organiser Terms in full — you'll be asked to accept both.
